Advantages
The AVK® range of Valves have been a popular choice for pipeline construction due to the product advantages and characteristics.
Features | Benefits |
10-year extended warranty on every Valve blasted, coated, assembled and tested to AS2638.2 in AVK SA Factory | Peace of mind when installing AVK® valves in a pipeline. |
Designed for zero leakage throughout valve life (50yrs) | No need to plan for valve refurbishment. |
AVK® developed, manufactured and controlled rubber components | Confidence in product conformance – 10-year wedge guarantee. |
High-memory EDPM rubber | Ensuring repeatability of sealing through valve life. |
AVK® manufacturing process of vulcanised wedge uses retractable pin tooling | Enable a complete even rubber coating of the wedge. |
Wedge nut is integral to the wedge | Ensuring no movement between nut and wedge. |
Bonnet gasket is custom moulded | Ensures that bonnet fasteners are protected from internal fluid and ingression of fluid when buried. |
Can be used in high-frequency operational applications due to high memory rubber and for DN450 and above replaceable wedge shoes | Valves can be specified in these applications with low maintenance requirements. |
Multiple end connection options | Enable flexibility in pipeline material and construction. |
O-rings can be changed under pressure with the valve back seated | Enables minor maintenance without interference to the pipeline. |
Manufactured in Australia | Ability to monitor and observe manufacture to ensure confidence in the product. Flexibility to meet specific project requirements. |
Valve closure direction or wedge replacement can be carried out in situ | Valve body does not need to be removed enabling same-day repair/replacement. |
Full bore | Low head loss enables swabbing |
Manufactured to AS2638.2 | Confidence in the reliability of the product to meet Australian conditions and specifications. |
EPDM and NBR options available | Can be tailored to the fluid characteristics. |
Can be used in horizontal, vertical or immersed applications | Flexibility in design. |

AVK® Air Valves Series 851/00/10/20
Single and double orifice air release valve for water and neutral liquid applications. Designed for automatic discharge of accumulated air during normal working conditions. All ductile components are coated with fusion bonded epoxy.
Both single and double orifice air release valves can be used for the following:
- For water (not sewage) and neutral liquid applications
- Air valves are designed for use up to 70 °C.
- Where applicable for AS 4020 compliance, the maximum temperature is 40 °C. Please always observe the pipe material's recommended operating temperatures.
AVK® Ball Check Valve Series 53/50 and 53/35
Ball check valve with flanged ends suitable for sewage, neutral liquid and non-potable water. Self-cleaning and full-bore valves ensure full flow with low pressure loss. The ball rotates during operation eliminating elements being stuck on the ball.
AVK® Isolation Valve
AVK Isolation Valve PN16 is a screw-down type of isolation valve. These are mostly used for the following:
- For fire protection services, water and neutral liquid applications
- Designed for use up to 70 °C, the isolation valve
- Applicable for AS 4020 compliance with a max temp of 40 °C, where we suggest always observing pipe material recommended operating temperatures.
AVK® Butterfly Valves
AVK® concentric butterfly valves for water and neutral liquid applications. Designed with square driven shaft and slim disc are available in different sizes to the AS/NZS market Standard.
AVK® Gate Valves
AVK® Gate Valves are widely used for all types of applications and are suitable for both above-ground and under-ground installation. They are available in Clock Closing and Anti-Clock Closing with Spindle Cap, Handwheel or Gearbox operation.
