Environmental Product Declarations
Recognising the emerging Australian demand for verified environmental product data, Iplex met the challenge and in the process became the industry leader. In December 2015, Iplex Pipelines became the world’s first plastics manufacturer to publish a suite of verified and registered International Environmental Product Declarations (EPD®).
The declarations cover:
- Iplex’s BlackMAX® and SewerMAX+® polypropylene drainage pipes
- Apollo®, Rhino® and Iplex Premium PVC pressure pipes
- PVC non-pressure pipes and conduits
- Iplex’s polyethylene pipe systems covering the Poliplex® range including (pressure pipes for water and gas, SewerplexTM non-pressure sewer pipe, GreenlineTM economy water pipe for rural irrigation, Thermapipe® the mining slurry pipe supplied with a white outer skin for high solar reflectance, Millennium® high stress crack resistant (HSCR) pipe for trenchless installations and high value assets).
We care about our customers and the effects our products and processes have on the environment; publishing Environmental Product Declarations gives the market clear visibility of this.
Environmental Product Declarations are third-party verified documents based on ISO 14025 and EN 15804 Standards that communicate transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of a product or service. Specifically, product declarations include information on the environmental impact of raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, the composition of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water and waste generation. Importantly, EPDs are of great assistance to our customers; the builders and developers seeking to construct environmentally responsible buildings and infrastructure. The declarations present key environmental product performance data in a uniform format and can be used to obtain Product Transparency credit points under the GBCA’s Green Star rating tool and Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia's rating systems.
